you can write in bangla phonetic system wherever you see an option to switch between "english" and "
" writing language (eg, activity update on aawaj front page after you log in). select "
" option and write your words using english characters. example, write "pukur" for "
". when done, click "post" and you will be shown a preview of how the Bangla text will appear. you can change your text and "preview" if needed and when satisfied, click "post" to submit. [this service is powered by google].
if your default view loads content from all aawaj members, you might be newcomer on aawaj and haven’t yet added friends. in this case, your default landing page will be showing “aawaj public”. so it’s time to build your friends network on aawaj! browse the publc shouts from aawaj and click on any nick you wish to add as friend. depending on the user’s privacy settings, you will reach the profile page of the user and will get an option to send him/her a friend request. similarly from your public shouts, other users can send you friend requests. when you add friends this way, you will get a filter option “all my networks” (will be your new default landing page), “aawaj friends” etc. once you also start following blogs on somewhere in… blog, “all my networks” will list new posts from followed blogs.
aawaj mobile lists notifications from all your connected sites including external services such as facebook. you will get notified of new comments, replies, likes, messages and friend requests.
aawaj mobile can be your one-stop service to keep a tab on facebook too! find the “social connections” link at the bottom of any page and connect to facebook with your facebook username and password. you can fine tune your preferences for facebook connectivity once you successfully add facebook on aawaj. depending on what you set, updates and notifications from facebook will also load on the home page of aawaj mobile.
yes! after you connect your facebook account, make sure “post updates” is checked under facebook options on the “social connections” page. you will see a small facebook icon and checkbox below the update post bar on home page which gives you the option to share your update as your facebook status.
member of somewhere in… blog? you can now view latest blog posts from all or filtered by your preference (followed and friends’ blogs) along with aawaj and facebook updates on aawaj mobile. you can also post comments (currently english only) and leave reply to a comment. what’s more: you even get notified on aawaj mobile for new comments on your post and replies to your comments!
setting up is simple. just make sure somewhere in… blog is connected to your aawaj account from “social connections” page (link can be found at the bottom of any page). if it’s not, click “somewhere in… blog” under “add connection” section in the page.
dedicated blog users also have the option to unclutter the home page view with updates from blog only – either public or filtered by followed blogs. just choose the filter selector at the top of the feed list and choose “swi-blog public” or “swi-blog followed”.
